This Eagle Paddle is a hand-carved in red cedar and painted by Trevor Hunt from the Kwakiutl or Kwakwaka´wakw Nation. It features 11 inlays of mother-of-pearl, 1 inlay of abalone, and 1 onlay of copper.
The Eagle Symbol is known as “The master of skies” and is a symbol of great significance. He is believed to be the creature with the closest relationship with the creator. Soaring to great heights, he can travel between the physical and the spiritual world. He is said to be a messenger to the creator.

The paddle is about 59 inches or 150 centimeters long, up to 5 1/2 inches or 14 centimeters wide, and up to 1 inch or 2 1/2 centimeters thick.
