This Salmon necklace is hand-carved by Haida artist Shaun Edgars. The pendant has been fully carved from argillite, with four inlays of abalone shell. Attached to the pendant is a leather necklace with two wood beads. This can be worn as a dynamic wearable piece of art, or displayed as a sculpture.
The Salmon symbolizes abundance, fertility, prosperity and renewal. For thousands of years, Salmon have been the primary food source for Northwest Coast Native Americans and are highly respected.

The argillite pendant measures approximately 5 5/8 inches or 14 1/4 centimeters long, 1 5/8 inches or 4 1/4 centimeters wide, and 1/2 of an inch or 1 1/4 centimeters thick. The necklace is approximately 28 inches or about 71 centimeters long.
