This Beaver Mask is carved and painted by Greg Henderson from the Kwakwaka´wakw Nation (formerly known as Kwakiutl Nation). It has been carved from red cedar and painted in red, black, brown, and green acrylic. Beaver is a prominent 'Nakwaxda'xw crest. Greg used the addition of green in reference to the Beaver coming from the forest. Areas of the mask are carved with a cross-hatching texture, alluding to the Beaver's signature tail.
