This hand-carved and painted Copper Wolf Bentwood Box is by Kwakwaka'wakw artist Sandy Johnson. Sandy is a member of the Kwikwasut’inuxw Haxwa’mis First Nation. The yellow and red cedar box features a Wolf design painted in copper, black, and light blue acrylic.
The Wolf Symbol represents loyalty, strong family ties, good communication, education, understanding, and intelligence. Of all land animals, the Wolf has the strongest supernatural powers and is the most accomplished hunter.

The box measures approximately 11 3/4 inches or 30 centimeters high, 12 inches or 30 1/2 centimeters wide, and 12 inches or 30 1/2 centimeters deep.
On the edges and top of the lid are subtle black underpainted lines that are only discernible under certain lighting conditions.
